If you have a Yahoo, AOL, Outlook, Hotmail, or select non-Gmail accounts, use Gmailify to get many of Gmail's features with that address.
To do this, you’ll need to link your account to Gmail. After you link your account, you’ll see all your messages in your Gmail inbox, plus these changes:
- Spam protection
- Better mail notifications on mobile
- Automatic email sorting based on type (Social, Updates, Promotions)
- Faster search, with advanced search operators

Setup on your Computer:
Link your address to Gmail
- On your computer, open Gmail.
- In the top right, click Settings Settings.
- Click the Accounts and Import or Accounts tab.
- In the "Check mail from other accounts" section, click Add a mail account.
- Type the email address you want to link, then click Next.
- Select Link account with Gmail (Gmailify), then click Next.
- Follow the steps on the screen, then click Next or Sign in.
After you link your account, "Gmailify" will appear next to your email address. When you open Gmail, you’ll be able to read, reply to, and organize messages from your other account just like you do in Gmail.
Unlink your address
- On your computer, open Gmail.
- In the top right, click Settings Settings.
- Click Accounts and Import.
- In the "Check mail from other accounts" section, click unlink.
After you unlink your other account from Gmail, you can choose to keep or delete copies of your other account's messages in your Gmail inbox.
- If you delete copies from Gmail, they’ll still be in the inbox of your other service (for example, Yahoo or Hotmail).
- If you keep copies in Gmail, they’ll stay in your Gmail account. However, if you move or delete them in Gmail, these actions won’t be reflected in your other account.

Setup on your Android:
Link your address to Gmail
Note: Make sure you've already added another account from Yahoo, AOL, Outlook, Hotmail, or other service to read in Gmail.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app .
- In the top-left, tap the Menu .
- Scroll down and tap Settings.
- Tap the non-Gmail account you’d like to link.
- Tap Link account. If you don't see this link, try updating your Gmail app.
- Follow the instructions on your screen.
After you link your other address to Gmail, you’ll see those messages both in the Gmail app and on the web at mail.google.com. You’ll be able to read, reply to, and organize those messages just like you do in Gmail.
Unlink your address
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app .
- In the top left, tap the Menu .
- Scroll down, then tap Settings.
- Tap the Gmail account you'd like to unlink from your other account.
- In the "Linked Account" section, tap Unlink account.
- Choose whether to keep copies of emails from the account.
- Tap Unlink.
After you unlink your other account from Gmail, you can choose to keep or delete existing copies of your other account's messages in your Gmail inbox.
- If you delete copies from Gmail, they’ll still be in the inbox of your other service (for example, Yahoo or Hotmail).

Setup on your iPhone & iPad:
Link your address to Gmail
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app .
- In the top left, tap Menu .
- To the right of your username, tap the Down arrow .
- Tap Manage accounts Add account.
- Choose the type of account you want to add.
- If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
- If you don't see your email service, select Other.
- Follow the steps on the screen to add your account, then tap Try Gmailify.
After you link your other address to Gmail, you’ll see those messages both in your Gmail app and on the web at mail.google.com. You’ll be able to read, reply to, and organize those messages just like you do in Gmail.

- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app .
- In the top left, tap the Menu .
- Scroll down, then tap Settings.
- Tap the Gmail account you'd like to unlink from your other account.
- Under "General," tap Gmailify Unlink Unlink.
